Update: Single Largest Residential Solar PV System in Singapore

img-20161018-wa0004

Hi all,

Update on the “Single Largest Residential Solar PV System in Singapore” that we have closed earlier this year.

Installation works are underway for this 54.18kWp, 172 pieces of 315Wp solar panels system. Projected to save about $1,180* per month and a total of $333,493* over 20 years, this solar PV system is a prime example of how quick and easy this system can be installed.

The photos shows how solar panels are installed upon a metal roof, with no penetration to your roof.

Clamps are used to clamp onto the seams of the metal roof and the solar panels are then secureded atop of the clamps.

A really quick and straightforward installation.

Stay tuned to this page for more updates on the Single Largest Residential Solar PV System in Singapore!

Crowd fund for your solar PV system with SunVest

20150320_132652*the above photo is not of actual roof

Dear home and building owners

Did you know that you can now crowdfund for your new Solar PV system? And it applies to both commercial and residential owners.

With our new SunVest (crowdfunding) service, SolarPVExchange will now be able to crowdfund for your Solar PV system with our green investors.

Our SunVest (crowdfunding) service is rather simple.

First, we will send our solar installer to do a site visit and take a look at your roof to determine the size of your system.

Next, once the Solar PV system and costs of the system is finalised with you, we will then start our SunVest (crowdfund) campaign to raise funds for your Solar PV system.*

Lastly, instead of paying one lump sum for your system, you can now pay in smaller installments per month over the agreed tenure (which ranges from 1-3 years).

As you can see from a newspaper article (http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/environment/bukit-timah-penthouse-gets-power-from-the-sun), Mr Pho is one example of a home owner using our SunVest service to crowd fund for his home’s new Solar PV system.

By crowd funding for his Solar PV system with us, Mr Pho not only gets to enjoy savings on his electrical bill (from the energy generated from solar) but he can also now pay for his system in smaller monthly installments instead of one lump sum.

Let’s look at how a typical home owner can benefit from crowdfunding for his solar PV system.

E.g. Mr A decides to go ahead with a Solar PV system that costs approximately $80,000 (after SolarPVExchange sends our solar installer for a site visit and assessement) and by doing so, it will generate approximately $679.58 worth of savings every month.

Assuming Mr A wishes to pay for his solar PV system in installment over a 3 years period, he will only need to pay $2377.80/month while saving him $679.58/month from his electrical bills.

This means that Mr A will only be in fact, paying a total of $60,599.55 (see table below) over 3 years, instead of $80K in one lump sum. This means Mr A actaully saves another $19,400.45 for his solar PV system by crowdfunding for it. Not a bad deal.

Year 1 2 3
Principal $80,000.00 $53,333.00 $26,667.00
Monthly Repayment $2377.80 $2377.80 $2377.80
Monthly Savings** $679.58 $694.37 $709.48
Nett Monthly Repayment $1698.22 $1683.43 $1668.32
Annual Total Nett Repayment $20378.59 $20,201.14 $20,019.82
Total Nett Repayment $60,599.55

**With added inflation rates

Now here comes the best part!

After 3 years, this Solar PV system will fully belong to Mr A which will continuie to generate free green energy over the expected lifespan*** of his solar PV system, bringing his total savings to $160,594.59

This means that Mr A’s solar PV system will pay for itself twice over!

So if you would like to start going solar with our SunVest (crowd fund) or you just simply want to own and purchase a solar PV system to enjoy monthly savings with clean energy, email us with your name and contact to enquiries@solarpvex.com and we will get back to you asap.

SunVest for a greener future!

***Expected lifespan of solar PV panels is 20-25years pending on the brand of panels

Single Largest Residential Solar PV System in Singapore

lorongkismis

Hi all, SolarPVExchange has set another record by closing the Single Biggest Residential Solar PV System in Singapore. At 54.18kWp(system size), it consists of 172 pieces of solar panels that covers 344m2 of the roof space.

This solar PV system could possibly help the home owner reduce his electricity bill by about $13,800 per year and a total of about $415,400 over 20 years, which is the expected lifespan of the solar PV panels.

This Singapore solar powered house will reduce the owner’s carbon footprint by generating 67,000kWh of green energy annually, or 29 tonnes of carbon dioxide, which is equivalent to planting 745 trees!

SINGAPOREANS CROWDFUND A S$300K (COMMERCIAL) SOLAR PV PROJECT IN A WEEK (NEW RECORD)

In July 2016, we successfully crowdfunded S$300k in less than a week for a Singapore commercial solar Photovoltaic (PV) project through SunVest.

We began crowdfunding for the S$300k on 8 July 2016 and gave ourselves a month to meet this target. Much to the surprise of everyone, the target was reached in just 6 days, with many of our dear green investors rushing in on the 6th day (12 July), to secure their investment in this commercial solar PV project.

We at SolarPVExchange extends our deepest gratitude to the 11 Green (environmentally conscious) Investors who heard about the project through the platform and friends and decided to participate in this crowdfunding project, which will help Singapore’s cause in lowering our carbon footprint.

“We are glad that our green solar PV projects are gaining traction, not only with the media, corporates and also the man on the street. Also, we see many more crowdfunders with special interest in funding green projects, and SolarPVExchange is glad to be part of the group to spread the “Green” message to our community, and it helps that the interest rate is pretty attractive too.” Rob Khoo, Managing Director (SolarPVExchange)

By crowdfunding this 173.25 kilowatt-peak solar PV system located at Yeo Hong Construction & Engineering P/L premises at 20 Gul Crescent, Singapore will further reduce its carbon footprint by 81.82 tonnes of CO2 over a period of 25 years.

Not only that, the 11 green investors will also a get a 7% interest on top of their principal at the end of 1 year which will mature in July 2017.

About the project: Yew Hong Construction & Engineering P/L Solar PV projectyewhongsolar

TARGET AMOUNT: S$300K

To raise S$300k for the purchase of products needed for the solar PV project.

ABOUT THE ISSUER: SUNSEAP

Sunseap is the first and largest solar leasing company in Singapore. It has won many significant projects such as Apple, HDB, Jurong Port, Panasonic, Straits Construction, Singapore American School, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, Mencast Holdings, ABB, United Technologies Companies, Cambridge Industrial Trust, to name a few.

SOLAR ADOPTER: YEO HONG CONSTRUCTION & ENGINEERING

For this solar PV system, Sunseap will be building it on Yeo Hong Construction & Engineering Pte Ltd. Founded in 1973, Yeo Hong started off as Yeo Hong Contractor Company, a sole proprietor company with just a small office space in Tiong Poh Road. Even back then, they are already the in-house contractor for several companies in the marine and process industries. By going solar with Sunseap, this will not only reduce the electricity bill for Yeo Hong Construction & Engineering but also reduce its carbon footprint as well.

First Successful SunVest (Crowd Funding) Solar PV System (April 2016)

In April 2016, we at SolarPVExchange, together with our crowd funding partner CoAssets (Southeast Asia’s first public listed crowdfunding site with offices in Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, China and Indonesia) successfully crowd-funded (which we like to call SunVest’ed) for the first ever Solar PV project in Singapore.

In fact, in less than a month, we managed to crowd fund more than the target amount of S$300k needed for the Solar PV system under Sunseap Leasing Pte Ltd.

This marked the first successful crowd funding campaign for a solar PV project in Asia (and possibly in the world).

About the project:

The system has a 202.125 KiloWatt-peak capacity and is built on an existing roof.

It all started on March 4thwhen we launched the crowd funding campaign online and the target was to raise S$300k in a month.

The premise was simple: invest in the project for one year and receive 7% interest on the amount invested, where the principle and interest are repaid to the individual’s bank account upon maturity.

In less than 3 weeks, we managed to raise 47% of the amount needed and that was primarily because investors were all trying to understand how it works and that took a bit of explanation (and some TLC from our SunVest consultants) to the potential investors. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank those of you for your time to make the journey to see us at our office and to talk to us.

So there was still a balance of 53% (or more than S$150k) to raise in the final week of this SunVest round and we were getting kind of nervous, to be honest.

Well, I guess, like the saying goes, if you have a good product, the customer will come, and true enough, by April 1st (2 days before the closing date), we managed to fully SunVest  (crowd fund) the project and hit our S$300k target with investors coming fast and furious.

In fact, in the final 2 days, we had many investors who came with investment and also enquiries and resulted in the project being Over Funded. Some made it in time while some didn’t, though we assured them that we will inform them as soon as possible once the next SunVest project is up.

Anyway, we achieved our target and successfully SunVest’ed (crowd funded) the first Solar PV project in Asia and this was all due to the help of our investors and partners. Many thanks.

We also took some time to speak to one of our investor, Mr Yeo on what he thinks about our SunVest, crowd funding for solar PV project.

SPVX:               Why did you decide to invest with us?

Mr Yeo:           A friend recommended this SunVest project to me. The investment had a pretty good return rate of 7% and the risk in the investment was rather low.

Also, this was a perfect opportunity to invest in a project, which allows me to achieve relatively good returns while helping to save the earth.

SPVX:               Do you feel the investment is safe/secure?

Mr Yeo:           Yes, I did research on the company and found it as a well-established solar firm with many big investors behind it, thus the risk of defaulting was low.

SPVX:               Besides this, we are sure you have other investments, could you share with us?

Mr Yeo:           Yes, I also have an investment plan and dabble in some other stocks/shares.

SPVX:               Thanks Mr Yeo.

About the Solar PV project:

Now, for those of you who have invested in the project, we have photos of the solar PV system that was installed on the premises for your viewing pleasure:

Next, our latest SunVest Project:

Good news! Following up on the success of our 1st SunVest Project, we have another SunVest project for crowd funding and is done in collaboration with CoAssets.

About the Project:

Sunseap recently signed a deal with Enlighten Furniture Decoration Co. Pte Ltd to supply its 3 Loyang Way 6 facility with clean energy over a period of 20 years. Sunseap will install a 142.59 kiloWatt-peak (kWp) system at the facility, and enable Enlighten Furniture Decoration Co. Pte Ltd to save over 82 tonnes of CO2 annually.

The amount to be raised is S$270,000 and it is a 1-year tenure with an annual interest of 7%, with a balloon payment structure where the principle is repaid together with the interest upon the maturity date. Minimum investment amount starts at a minimum of S$3,000 per investor.

SunVest for this solar PV project will start officially online on  4th May 2016 & End Date is on 24th May 2016 (2359H)

New hire purchase scheme for residential projects!

Imagine (potentially) saving $7k (or more) per year, or more than $160k over 20 years on your electrician bill just by installing a solar pv system on your house. Well that’s what exactly will be happening to one residential who has just signed up for a solar pv system for his new home.

Located in the west of Singapore, this residential project of 29.92kWp (system size) consists of 95 panels which covers 190 square meters of his roof.

With this new solar PV system, the total energy will generate about 37,149.34kWh/year and 676,463.62kWh over 20 years. When converted to savings, he will save approximately $7,028.66 in a year and $162,128.78 in 20 years!

Not only that, he will also reduce his carbon footprint by 16 tonnes of CO2 and in 20 years it would be a whopping 292 tonnes of CO2. Not bad we must say.

Anyway, here’s a piece of good news for those of interest in going solar. We are currently offering a one year hire purchase scheme for your solar PV system so that you don’t have to fork out one huge sum but pay via interest free instalment over 12 months. Sign up with us now as an initiator and we will be in touch shortly.
