200 kWp of Residential Solar projects secured in 2020 despite the Circuit Breaker
Despite the circuit breaker (CB) measures in early April this year which has affected all aspects of life and commerce greatly, we, at SolarPVExchange are glad that we still managed to close 8 Solar PV projects (before and during CB) which is close to 200kWp of solar PV projects in total, and all these just from landed homes.
This was definitely heartening to know that despite the difficult conditions, our Singapore landed home owners are still thinking of going solar and help fight climate change while saving on their electrical bill. FYI, some of the home solar PV projects were closed literally via email, phone calls and digital video conferences which goes to show that the solar education has reached a certain level of maturity for such deals to be closed without even a physical site visit. Or it could also be because they have trust in our works (we hope so 😀)
Anyway, just for reference: this 200 kWp capacity is almost eight times bigger than our nursing home commercial project, and is also equivalent to approximately eight typical HDB Roof-top Solar PV systems.
*Landed homes' solar PV systems in Singapore typically range around 10+ to 30+kWp (pending on the type of landed property while some GCB can go up to 50-60kWP).
Mr. Rob Khoo, Founder and MD of SolarPVExchange, said: "This was a collaborative effort between the homeowners and the team, in trying to go solar despite the difficult circumstances surrounding the circuit breaker."
The solar energy generated annually from these solar systems will be able to power close to 1,000 three-room flats with a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of around 110,000 kg CO2. This is also the equivalent of planting around 1800 trees for over 10 years according to the United States Environment Protection Agency's Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator.
SolarPVExchange's words of Gratitude
The team would like to thank all clients, especially to those who had confirmed their orders during the circuit breaker period. (Sales was completed mainly through email/calls/WhatsApp & digital meetings. Singapore may be a small nation, but we definitely have a big heart in embracing Mother Earth.
The world has changed... All we can do is our best
The way of life has changed for most, if not all of us. Gone are the days where we can roam around freely without a mask over our faces. If it is true that the Covid-19 pandemic had originated from human consumption of bats and had been worsening due to irresponsible human behaviour, this only tells us that the deeds of humans can have drastic impact to the world.. Everyone is only hoping for a vaccine to surface soon.
We can still do something about it
In the context of climate change, there is no vaccine and there is no 2nd chance. All of us must play our part to reverse the effects of global warming before the point of no return. One way we can do so, is to rely on the most reliable source of renewable energy in Singapore, solar power.
Despite the difficult COVID-19 situation around the world, it is reassuring to see that people in Singapore are starting to take action against the potentially hazardous effects of climate change while realizing at the same time, that they can actually save a significant amount of money across the years.
